 Dead Stars


           The story of Dead Stars is written by Paz Marquez Benitez. This story is about Alfredo Salazar, a bachelor over 30 years old, and two women: Esperanza, his fiance for four years and an ideal girl of a man, and a young girl from out-of-town named Julia Salas. It is a love story about a man named Alfredo Salazar where he got confused on who he is going to marry: Esperanza his soon to be bride or Julia Salas that he fell in love with.

              Esperanza is the first women he falls in love with. But everything change when he met Julia Salas in a dinner party. They secretly often see each other until he realized that he's falling for Julia Salas. His feelings for Esperanza got faded and he felt that he would be much happier beside Julia. He didn't told Julia about his upcoming wedding and he keep their relationship to Esperanza.

             Julia found out that he would be soon married to Esperanza. On the other hand, Esperanza knew why Alfredo was acting such way and told him that she is not blind to see what he was up to lately. But still, Alfredo ended up marrying Esperanza, as Julia already said goodbye to him and went back to her hometown.Then eight years later, he goes on a business to the town where Julia lives. He goes to visit Julia whom he has never forgotten but he is surprised that he doesn't feel the attraction that he felt before. He compares his love for her to Dead Star because he thought that he still love her but the truth is, it is the memory that he's longing for.

         For me, this story tells about on how people are careless in terms of choosing relationships. We choose a person so quickly without thinking if we really love them and we will be happy with them for the rest of our lives. Then we'll see that time is running so fast and we are being left behind.
